Tajikistan is a landlocked country in Central Asia with an area of 143,100 square kilometers. It is bordered by Kyrgyzstan to the north, Uzbekistan to the west and southwest, Afghanistan to the south, and China to the east. Tajikistan also has a short border with Pakistan in the southeast.
